			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the past I&#8217;ve never had problems losing weight. Once I actually get the inclination and put the effort in I could easily lose 1KG a week, sometimes more.</p>
<p>Not this time though. I&#8217;m struggling just to not gain weight let alone losing any. On the days I put extra effort in I seem to put on the weight! I just don&#8217;t get my body right now.</p>
<p>It doesn&#8217;t help that my new job is a lot of sitting rather than a lot of doing. Combined with my occasional snacking on lunch&#8230; I&#8217;m finding I can&#8217;t get through the afternoon without it!</p>
<p>This weekend I&#8217;m planning on riding down to our local markets and buying some cheap fruit for snacks for the week ahead. I also have a 4 day weekend coming up (which is awesome, although later in the rotation I&#8217;ll work 7 days straight) so I&#8217;m going to do what I can to get myself into gear then.</p>
<p>Any suggestions? When you feel like devouring a block of chocolate, what do you do instead? How do you get yourself up and moving when all you really want to do is sit on the couch?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>So here I am again, blogging at this domain.. Made for blogging about food and weight loss.. Can I do? The blog, sure, but the diet? Fingers crossed.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m not to sure what my start weight is, but I am going to the doctor to find out, OR buy my own scales, which would be cheaper in the long run! (Like, $40 to see the doctors? Lul)</p>
<p>I am eying up the &#8220;<a title="KM" href="http://www.katemorgan.co.nz" target="_blank">Kate Morgan</a>&#8221; diet.  I&#8217;m not sure how I feel about this, as I easily get sick of eating the same thing over again. It&#8217;s kind of expensive, but because I don&#8217;t pay for food<sup><a href="http://surroundedbyfood.info/2010/10/here-i-go-again/#footnote_0_33" id="identifier_0_33" class="footnote-link footnote-identifier-link" title="I get dinner provided Mon-Fri">1</a></sup>, I <em>should</em> be able to afford it, instead of &#8220;grocery shopping&#8221;.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t really have a &#8220;goal&#8221; weight either, more of a goal size I guess. I&#8217;d like to get back down to a 14, (Er.. NZ?) Last time I dieted, I had size 14&#8242;s that where falling off me! I know 14 isn&#8217;t a &#8220;Skiny&#8221; size, but it&#8217;s comfortable, comfortable enough for me to wear a bikini without feeling <em>too</em> self-conscious.</p>
<p>So wish me luck. For now, without a set diet, just &#8220;eating less / healthy&#8221;, and for later on, when all my money goes to some kind of Weight Watchers or Kate Morgan type thing. <img src='http://surroundedbyfood.info/wp-includes/images/smilies/1.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is that time again. Yes, where I try to lose those same 30KG that I always try to lose. Usually, I&#8217;m quite successful but then something goes horribly wrong and I stop bothering. Most recently, that was the batteries on my scales dying and I just pretended that I wasn&#8217;t putting on weight&#8230; 7KG later and I buy some new batteries YIKES!</p>
<p>So, now I&#8217;m reforming (or attempting to) and trying to better my diet and exercise regime.</p>
<p>I feel that I&#8217;m improving but my scales aren&#8217;t reflecting the change. You have no idea how disappointed I am, after 3 weeks to have lost no weight even though I&#8217;ve dramatically changed what I eat and am exercising more.</p>
<p>I won&#8217;t give up though and hope for better results this week. It&#8217;s been hard though, my weight is yo-yoing around like crazy.</p>
<p>Today is weigh in #3 and well, if I don&#8217;t weigh less than 97.2KG I&#8217;m cracking skulls <img src='http://surroundedbyfood.info/wp-includes/images/smilies/17.gif' alt=':D' class='wp-smiley' /> Not really&#8230; I&#8217;ll be going for a bikeride instead actually.</p>

<p>Welcome, welcome to Surrounded by Food. Now, you might be asking &#8220;Just what is Surrounded by Food&#8221; well it is the beginnings of a group health/food blog between Jana and I. We&#8217;re trying to get fit and healthy and that is always easier with a but of support right?</p>
<p>So, help us along our journey and provide any and all suggestions you have. They&#8217;re always welcome. You&#8217;ll find what you always wanted to know about us in our About sections which are currently a work in progress (and always will be. I have weight updates &#8211; well I will have) while we tweak it out.</p>
<p>Things you should expect to see are healthy, tasty recipes and tips on exercise and cravings and how to avoid them. And obviously, our trials and triumphs along the way.</p>
